Dr. Dunne has lectured on autism spectrum disorders and digital health technology-related topics at the local, national, and international level. A cognitive scientist and technologist by training, Dr. Dunne has deep industry expertise with over a decade of experience founding, advising, and managing venture-backed cognitive health and education technology startups. A former director of Autism for Easter Seals, Dr. Dunne also spearheaded the Autism and Innovation Initiative funded by the Discovery Partners Institute and private donors where she established strategic partnerships involving world-class corporate, university, private capital and nonprofit partners. A former Kauffman Foundation/Astia Entrepreneur Fellow, Maureen serves on the C-Suite selection committee of Astia which supports promising high-growth technology startups with an inclusive culture. Dr. Dunne is also a board director for the Mental Health Association of GC, Access to Care (Auxiliary Board), Autism Community Ventures, several technology startups and a college trustee responsible for a $350M budget. Dr. Dunne was previously named a ‘Founder to Watch’ by Women 2.0 and recently participated in the Nobel Prize Summit for problem-solving discussions alongside top scientists, educators and Nobel laureates. A lifelong autism advocate, Dr Dunne has been very involved in the autism field, has set up multiple autism scholarships and has been a foster parent to children with autism, including a nonverbal boy she taught to communicate. She is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors. Maureen holds Joint BA/MA degrees from the University of Chicago, a Master’s from London School of Economics and completed advanced training in the cognitive/data sciences as a fellow at MIT/Harvard.
